The OFFICIAL Lift and Tire Size Thread
I had that size on mine for a bit, a little trimming because I'm running heavily offset 17x10 wheels. Also doesn't help that the tires look goofy since the tread is too thin for the wheel.
wondering if i could get some help... looking to get my self a 2" levelling kit by daystar. and 265/70/17 general grabber at2. what would the difference be between a -6 offset and a -12 offset. trying to decide what rims i want.
The stock wheels have a 25 mm offset, so any lower, especially negative offset pushes the wheels out. The result will be more trimming necessary on the front splashguard and possibly front bumper cover. A lot of wheels have an offset of 18, so that would be your best option, with least possible issues. Changing the offset beyond a minimal amount will cause more wear on your wheel bearings (and other components), giving them a shorter lifespan, although that's certainly a debatable issue.

A lot of 17" wheels come with an offset of 18mm, so that is perfect if you can find a wheel with that option. My wheels are 17 x 9 with an offset of 20mm. Believe me, when I was searching for wheels, I looked at a lot of wheels, and one after another the offset was either zero or negative offsets.

When you're trying to stuff big fat 35's on your truck, a negative offset is necessary or the tire rubs on the inside.
