So, Which variety of Leveling kit is preferred? I have already read about the polyurethane not being the best where it's cold, so I seem to be left with the choice of Billet or Welded.
Here's a couple of random illustrative pictures...

Hey guy got a hopefully simple question that can be answered. I got a 08 Dakota 4x4 put the 2" suspension lift on it last year and I am finally ready to buy new tires for it. Currently running 245/70R16 BF Goodrich A/T KO I want to put a bigger tire on but I don't want to have to worry about doing any trimming . The tire guy recommended either 265/70R16 or 265/75R16. Also I need to make sure the spare still fits underneath. Is anyone running these types and can help me out with my decision.

Thanks,
Steve

A few of us here have the leveling kit installed (1.5" or 2") and are running the following sized tires.

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit with zero to slight trimming
-265/75/16
-265/70/17

I have a stock 2008 Dakota quad cab SXT 2wd.... Can I run 245/75/16 tires with no modifications?

Yeah, no problem at all.

FYI: That size tire is not ideal for the alloy wheels, which are 8" wide.
A 245/75/16 tire should be mounted on a wheel width of 6.5" to 7.5".

If you have the steel wheels, which are 7" wide, then it will be perfect.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks, I do have alloy wheels. The factory tires are 245/70R/16 on the the alloy wheels. Do you think the 245/75R/16 will still work?

I would go with 265/70/16. It fits better on the 8" wide wheel, looks better (wider), and is slightly taller than 245/75/16.
And 265/70/16 is a stock size tire for the Dakota, so it fits perfectly.

My 05 ST Dakota quad cab 4X4 has 16" X 8" steel rims, w/245/70-16 tires on it.
Can I run 235/75-16 tires on it? I can get a super deal on that size right now, and I don't really like the wider tires anyways.
