Anyone have the TSB for the software upgrade for transmission
Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the TSB or whatever to show that the software needs to be upgraded for the Dakota 3rd gen transmission shift upgrade? I want to take my truck in wednesday and have them do it. Do I need to show them proof that this is needed? Do i just ask for it??
Truck downshifts too much when going down hills and stuff.
Thanks

I don't think there is TSB for a software upgrade for 2008+ transmissions in Dakotas. There are for 2005-2007 with the older V8s. I will research.
EDIT: The only transmission related technical service bulletins I could find for the 2008 model year dealt with shuttering of the torque converter/transmission, nothing to do with shifting. Where did you hear there was an software update?

Dodge forum has added a TSB search to the forum
It is located in the black bar at the top of the page.

What was with the shuttering? How do I know if mine had been serviced for that one? Should I mention it to the dealer?

Are you talking specifically about the trans? If so, I can look up the TSB's for you if you PM me your VIN and symptoms.
TSB's are typically performed based on symptoms of malfunction by the vehicle. Chrysler pays for a TSB if the fix is under warranty but only if their was an original complaint from the customer. If you are just looking to get any TSB done to your truck that may apply you would be looking at numerous fixes resulting in thousands of out of pocket expenses since no warranty would apply.
