I wish I had seen this before I started doing the front end on my truck, compressing the spring to get everything apart and then back together is a pain especially since my spring compressor is pretty big so the strut boots won't fit past it.

That was my logic... figured it would be easier and I was wrong. I had to have a shop do it because I couldn't get the arm to drop per the factory manual. I guess I could have bought/rented the tools, (to properly drop the upper mount) but I didn't want to take it all apart again, plus my torque wrench doesn't fit easily on the upper strut to tighten the bolts (too tall) and I'd probably would need to use adapters/crowsfoot which I would have to buy as well. Then I'd have to do math... which I kinda think every torque wrench should come with the measurements to plug in since they give you the formula lol.

Alright I finally got the rear shock in so he's my review of the Monroe 171100 quickstrut and the 58650 load bearing shocks. My truck to my knowledge is stock (I bought it used) and was unloaded.

Best guess... the front from the center of the center cap of the rim to the top of the exterior of the fender was about 20.5 inches. The rear (using the same method) was about 22 inches.

I test drove it over some of the speed humps. The bounce is totally gone. Ironically I still anticipate it, but it's gone. It returns to center like a normal shocks and struts should.

I drove it on the street at 40-60mph and it was pretty smooth. Bumps weren't an issue.

I then took it on a dirt road that gets washed out and it gets pretty rough. I enabled 4hi and drove 20mph going up and up to 25mph going down. I mostly had the truck in 2nd gear. It seemed to handle a bit better than with the old shocks/sturts, but I can still feel the rear slip every once in awhile, but not as much as the old ones did.

Then I took it on the highway drive up to 75mph and it drove nice and smooth.

So they seem great especially since the damn bounce is gone.

This is of course assuming everything is/was perfectly straight. Wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in this.
