Interesting morning, need new bumper!
So I woke up this am and went out side to see my buddy backing down the drive in his 85 broncoII just in time to see him smash into the front of my truck. Now the subframe and bumper are all messed up. Barely tweaked his bumper. The subframe is pushed back and down on the dak. Going to hook up a chain to a tree and see if I can bend it back. If not, anyone know where I can get a hook up on a bumper and subframe? Thanks!! Im embarrassed to even drive it down the road

This blows!!!After a week of arguing with them back and forth, and them delaying time and time again (they stated they even consulted a lawyer), I contacted my insurance. They forced the claim through the co-worker's insurance, and I had the truck back after less than three days, and a rental in the mean time.
I understand you wanting to be nice to a neighbor, but don't sacrifice the quality of your truck or it's looks if he wants to be cheap. Don't be afraid of calling your insurance company.
There are 2 crush frame pieces behind the bumper that have to be replaced period. They are there to absorb force on impact during an accident and aren't something that can be bent back. Your best bet is to take it to a shop and get an estimate. If you tie the bumper to a tree to bend it back you'll probably rip it off or make things worse.

Its Bumper Cover, Cover Support (Plastic), Steel Support, and then Frame.
If its bent in at all, your looking at replacing the cover support, and Steel Support. The Support has a Cross style back so it would crush in, but only 4-5 inches at most.
So depending on your Covers condition, your basically replacing all of it. Bending it out, like Jeremy said will just tear it off most likely, or damage it more.
The Steel Support is only as wide as the grill, the rest is the Cover Support (idk the real name for it)

You can see the 2 bumper mount positions in this pictures (No crush parts) Those tubes are the frame.

If they are removable, they might be longer (like 18" or more) then I really looked when I was redoing my front-end.
