Default install LED ring

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to take apart the headlight casing to install a LED ring or strip inside.

Thanks,

you would have to bake them, I wouldn't suggest it unless your ok with buying a new set of lights. It would be very easy to ruin the lights when pulling them apart.

they are not meant to come apart.

Im not saying don't do it but be prepared for the worst.

I was actually thinking about cutting a hole on the back side that would be big enough to get the ring in but not effect the mounting of the casing and then silicone the piece back in place. Of course I still have to find a way to wire the lights into the HIDs that I installed.

I tried to bake open a headlight about a month ago. I baked it for a total of probably close to an hour, trying to open them up every 10 minutes or so. The glue would not even budge! I'm going to give it another shot soon, so either it's finally going to loosen up, or I'll melt the damn thing!

The Ram guys can get theirs open, so we should be able to. I've read their threads on it, and mine were cooked longer with no success.

You will eventually end up with condensation inside the lenses no matter how good you think they are sealed after you cut them open.

Edit: I have a drivers side headlight laying around if anyone wants it to practice on. Pay shipping and it's yours.

I'm am probably going to try it anyway. Worst case senerio I have to buy a new assembly. I have one question. I was looking at the connector on some of the LED rings such as this one http://www.ebay.ca/itm/T10-Car-Angel...ht_5184wt_1190

Where would I connect to for power?

i tried that same thing as dakotoff, lol bakes it for more than an hour every 20 minutes trying to pry them open, that factory glue is GNARLY. but im sure if you have patient and bake it long enough for the right heat, you will succeed. Ive seen a process of people cutting the back side of the headlight but i dont like that idea. I broke the**** out of mine when trying this, so i just manned up and grabbed a set of cappa certified depo's for 300, they are really bitchin too i love the nightrunner look
