Default Inexpensive gears somewhere?

I know there have been threads, but wondering if anyone has some inexpensive gears laying around, or websites, or deals somewhere.
I am looking to move to the 4.10's and my friends owns a shop where we will do it all anyways.
I have 4x4, so I will need both sets.
Thanks in advance for any leads!!!

(PS. A 5000lb boat is just a huge pain through appalacians and even on straight ground couldn't get it to find a nice "spot" in the rpms.)

im not sure what usual prices are or whats cheap. But i saw 4wheelparts had 9.25 gears for under $300, im sure they were 4.10s. Of course there are junkyards too. Good luck with the search, im looking for 3.90 or 4.10s as well in the future.

depending on the mileage, check the wheel bearings, also you will need a bearing kit, I have precision gears and love them, 4.10 www.precisiongear.com

Good gears are not cheap. Do not go with the cheapest set you can find. (Still shop around though, of course.)

Many have done the cheapest, and then discovered the gears were very noisy, even when installed correctly. The differentials will make a whirring and/or howling noise.

I second that. Saving a few hundred on gears can result in annoying sounds that are unbearable to anyone over 18 years of age.

I buy all my gears from Randy's Ring and Pinion. They have a great selection, good prices, fast shipping, and knowledgeable salespeople. And no, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Just a happy customer.

x2 for Randy's! If you cant find it on their website, CALL them! If it exists, thay can get it. And their pricing is very competitive.
