Question Getting new tires!

I'm finally getting the new tires this weekend!
I could not get the 2" leveling kit so my options are:
265/65R17 (same as stock size)
245/70R17 (same as my spare tire)
285/60R17 (like the wider look, not sure if it will fit)

265/70R17 (forget it, it will rub)

Any suggestions?

I'm in the market 4 new tires, after 65k KM I'm looking to get a new full set of tires.
Factory set up: 265/65R17

I'd been reading a lot in the Forum and I didn't found anyone mentioning the 285/60R17

Seems like a 265/70R17 is a very popular size!
Since I'm buying the 4 tires, what's the right way?
My tire shop offers:
265/65R17 (kindda costly)
265/70R17 (not bad $)
285/60R17 (very very good deal $)

FYI 2009 Dakota 4X2 stock

TY 4 u answers!

I use the 285/70R-17 size tires, I had the Nitto Terra Grappler on for the summer and just put on the Yokohoma Geolander. With a leveling kit and a lift, this size will rub just a bit on the frame as you do a full turn - the 60 series of this tire size would be quite a bit worse and would also be a lot harder on your steering & front suspension components.

The leveling kit is not 4 sale in Cancun so I'm keeping the truck stock until I can go to the US and get it, but the new set of tires is a must have in the next 2 weeks, that's why I'm asking wich way should I go...

Stock size, go with the 265/65/17. If you can find 285/60/17, (which only a few options are available), you could go with that size. But, I only see a couple of options in that size. If you have stock OEM steel wheels, it's not that good of an option. You'll need an 8" wheel, at a minimum, for that tire size, the steel wheels are 7" wide. On the Stock OEM alloy wheels, which are 8" wide, the 285/70/16 can work fine. A 265/65/17 is a much more common sized tire. I don't really see 286/60/17 being cheaper than a 265/65/17, but maybe it's cheaper in Cancun.

DaKoCuN,

I would have to encourage you to go with the factory set up, as those size tires were tested and have a confirmed compatibility with the factory build of your vehicle. Please note that non-dodge modifications do not by themselves void the warranty, but they are not covered by your warranty.

265/65R17 Wrangler Goodyear (made in China)
265/70R17 Cooper Tires (made in the US)
285/60R17 Hankook (made in Japan)

I believe my SLT came with OEM alloy wheels

Actually I got the quote $ from a tire dealer in Corozal, Belize (400KM away from here), it's like a FREE ZONE border area with no taxes, that's probably the reason of the cheaper tire.
I know 4 sure Cancun ain't cheaper at all!
And I'm going back to Belize in the early December 4 a business trip so I wanna take the opportunity to get the new set of tires (just waiting to make the size decision) I know I wanna go bigger but keeping the suspension stock.

265/65R17 zero problems --> Correct
285/60R17 zero problems --> Should be correct, but it is a little smaller tire than 265/65/17, and nobody has tested that size yet.

265/70R17 might rub --> They will most likely rub.

If I was in your situation, I'd stick with the 265/65/17. But definitely let us know whatever tire that you end up buying.
