Default need help

I have a 2006 dodge Dakota slt v-8 magnum and it runs fine just had tierod and lower balljoint replaced on my front driverside sounds fine now but it snowed the other day and when i put it in 4 wheel high i heard this weird clicking sound but when i turned it off it went away im thinking my cv axle is going bad but not sure has anyone had this problem and can give me any ideas. Thank you

It sounds like a bad driveshaft CV joint.

I'll move you to the 3rd Generation Forum

Get up under it and take a look at the CV joint boots. Did you do the balljoints asnd tie rods yourself?

Nckrump, please try and use some form of spelling and punctuation. I'm having trouble trying to understand what you are saying.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are experiencing the "clicking" when in 4x4, and NOT when you are in 2WD.

Do you get the "clicking" all the time? Does it do it only when you turn?

Sorry about the spelling. Yes that is correct about the clicking and it does it all the time when im in 4 wheel.

is it a click or more like a metal hammer banging on a metal table, clank, clank, clank, if so, something is not engaging properly, if it clicks or clanks when going straight,the soleniod might have been wacked during service,
