Default gear swap project, need info

so im noticing im having some leaking from the front of my rear diff where the pinion enters the diff from the drive shaft. figured the seal is going n is gonna need replaced n figure if im gonna have it opened up to do that might as well do the gear swap at the same time.

as of the time being i have the 3.55 ratio gearing, n frankly sucks off the line. i was figuring somewhere in the 3.90-4.11 gear ranges.

any suggestions as to which would be more favorable for some good off the line giddyup (ratio, brand, etc...)

also anyone know of someone in the charleston SC area that is able to do the install n well overhaul of the seals n gears. i dont have a garage anymore since i live on base.

Changing the pinion seal is about a 30 minute job and you don't have to "open up" anything. You don't even have to drain the oil.

Only if you need to replace the bearings.

Had mine done before, watched him do it in 15 minutes (once lifted). Its only a few bolts and one large nut I believe.
