Default Cruise Control Issue

Before I get too much greif I have done some research on this issue and havent found a problem with similar symptoms.

I guess I'll start by introducing myself. I am 22 years old and have had my 2006 4.7 Dakota for the past 96,000 miles. It has been a great truck with only minor issues and maintenence. I have done all maintenance from tranny flush to tie rod ends, and exhaust manifold gasket. Nothing major but I like to consider myself competent when it comes to minor issues and maintenance.

Problem: Recently I took a 150 mile trip out of town. To make a long story short the truck started acting up, check engine light came on. Code read throttle position sensor so I swapped it out. Immediately afterwards the cruise control quit working. Whether or not there is an correclation between the two I doubt but it wouldnt be the first time I've been wrong. Currently the CC light will not turn on and no other lights are illuminated on the dash that shouldn't be.

Possible Solutions: I have read other opinions similar and think that it may possibly be the clock spring located in the steering column. However because the air bag light is not on I am skeptical to install the part if it will not fix the issue. Do any of you have a suggestion for a possible fix? Any input is appreciated.

I'll ask the obvious: did you check the fuses?

I have been told that fuse 36 powers the CC. That fuse is good. Looked under the dash for a fuse and wasnt able to find anything. Do you know which fuse specifically?

If you haven't already done so, Doublecheck all the electrical and vacuum connections out under the hood. Could be you knocked something loose when replacing the TPS?

I have a 2006 Durango with the 4.7 and have the exact same problem only mine stopped working because of the issue the TPS was causing. I had the TPS replaced at shop and they told me to check fuses. Fuses are fine, anything else it could be?
Thanks!

Default TPS sensor causing cruise control to not work.

I have had my 2006 dakota for quite some time now. My cruise control worked before i replaced my TPS (a seemingly common fix), and now that i replaced it, my cruise when out.. WTF?

When you replaced the TPS, did you remove the throttle body? And if so, did you remember to reconnect the cruise control cable?

CC should be activated by a button the the steering wheel, maybe you accidentally disconnected it, or you could have a bad connection to the button so it does not activate. Also, check all your fuses and make sure they are OK, not just the CC fuse and that the relays are plugged in as well. You could have another fuse that is blown that is causing the issue as well.
