I don't disagree with you, in terms of showing off good structural welds (as an engineer, I'd like to see what's holding things together) but this is finish work - it is supposed to be pretty.

I'd like to see a good, full-penetration weld, ground smooth, and painted body colour, but that's just me.

I'm more impressed that he did this with a Crappy Tire welder! As I said, I'm going to try to sneak one into my garage over the next little while!

if you're going too get a welder spend the extra money and get a lincon or miller, I got this welder back when I was 13 so I could learn on; its still a great little machine for around the house for smaller projects though. Typically I use the machines at university (engineering as well ). I'm going too be picking up a nice lincon welder in the near future for a massive future project I'm planning for the baby dodge
