rough idle
Another '05 owner here, when I first got mine I chased this down for awhile. I cleaned the throttle body, new TPS, new plugs with no luck. So I went to the dealer who took me to another '05 off their used lot and let me listen "see - they all idle like that" So I've learned to live with it.
Mine is not very rough, but definitely not as smooth as I'd like.

While I agree that this is an unusual and recognized problem, there's no way in hell that a v-8 should idle like this. Ok, I'm done venting
Now on to the fix. I'm changing the TPS today and planned on removing the battery and turning the ignition switch on for a couple of minutes like Service Bulletin #18-025-01 suggested. They also said that after I do that, it will take a while of driving the truck for the computer to "re-learn" the inputs to establish my driving style. Or, I could go to the dealer to have them "flash" the memory. One of the symptoms of a TPS being part of this problem was occasional hard shifts. My truck does that as well so the TPS is the next step. It's quick and only $25. I'll let you all know how this works out.
