Thumbs down Aftermarket Radio and another Qs

Hello all,

Trying install a Pioneer radio in my 2005 Dakota and running into same problems others are with the ACC power. Thinking of tapping into the Cigarette lighter power lead as others have done as this seems the simpliest. If i do this will i still be able to use the cig. lighter with the radio on without changing the fuse for it under the hood. Was also thinking of running a power lead from the battery and creating another fuse block for acc. inside the cab. Would this work? I think doing this it would be constant ON

Thanks everyone in advance.

Charlie

Correct. I could be misunderstanding the system, but from what I recall, the radio isn't actually drawing any power from the ACC wire. It is just telling it when to come on or not. Its a signal wire is all.

I tapped into the cig lighter. No problems. Even put a spade disconnect so I can remove it.
