Default 21.7 mpg!

I just completed a 300 mile highway miles with no stop and go traffic and more or less steady 70-75 mph. Calculated mileage came to 21.7! This is the best mileage I have seen. Incidentally, the computer said 19.5 mpg.

I have gotten 18 mpg in my 5.9 Dakota. Didn't think that was to bad for being a powerhouse V8

You guys are doing good! The most I've achieved in my 5 years of ownership is 20.3 . Most of the time I'm thinking man, I could be driving a SRT-10 for just a few dollars more at the pump.

My 6 yr best was 21.0 (Mix of Hills, City and Flat Ground), with an overall of 15.5 (I do a lot of city) and a low of 12.0 (Hauling a Trailer in the Dead of Winter with lots of Idling)

All I am running is a 77 Series KN, a MBRP Cool Duals Exhaust System, a HIPoTek 68.5 mm TB and the Towing Tune from SC running on a min of 91 octane fuel. Honestly I dont think any of that really helped though as it was roughyl getting the same before all the upgrades. It just makes it a bit more responsive as well as a change in the power bands. I really need to get on a dyno

if you treat them correctly with proper tire pressure and maintance, they get very good mileage

Just curious, do you have the 16" or the 18" wheel option?

I had an 05 Dakota with the 16" wheel option and could squeeze 21.5mpg on steady interstate.

I now have a 2011 with the 18" wheel option and I've never gotten better than 19.6.

Other than that both trucks were exactly the same. 4.7, quad cab, 2wd, 3.92 gear, auto

I am getting 14 in town so it depends on driving conditions.

I have stock rims and the 4.7 motor. I used to see 19.5 mpg before on the computer but apparently it reads low.
