So your fan spins freely. Next, check your coolant level. After that, I would go to the thermostat and then the water pump.
On a side note, if you need a tune up, do it yourself. There is not much to a "tune up" on newer cars these days. Replace the plugs with standard copper core plugs, maybe the wires if you think they need to be replaced, PCV valve, air filter, oil change (though not considered part of a tune up), run some fuel injector cleaner through it...thats about it

Holy h3ll man. I hate to say it, but I think it's time for you to seriously consider dumping that truck. You have sunk waaay to much money into it. Either that or your getting taken by every shop you go to. Your ratio is likely 3.55. Any axle from 05-07 will fit.
after putting that much money in it i have to keep it, i couldn't sell it i wont get much for it...used it as a work truck..got the front seats ruined with tar marks and some rough body work on drivers side quarter panel...
payed 10K for it...after putting 10k into it almost.. definitely after this job...
thought about seeling it many times but i just see it as a total loss...keep saying after this repair im not doing any more.
dont know what to do.. i want to keep it...i love the truck..i would love a new one, but in 10 years or less on a new one its just going to have equal problems or worse....

should i do the rear end?

Why do they think the rear end is going out. Whats the prognosis? How much oil is in it? Does it hum only during acceleration, only during braking, without your foot on either the brake or the accelerator?
