Default superchips+68.5mm TB upgrade

I have an 05 with the 4.7 and I'm curious about getting the hipotek 68.5mm throttle body and a superchips tuner. (i feel I need to spoil my baby) what kind of gains should I expect to see from this combo? is it worth the $$? I already have a full magnaflow and airaid intake.

That right there are 2 of the 3 best "bang for the buck" mods you can do to these trucks. (3rd being an electric cooling fan). You will definitely feel the difference in power, shifting, bottom end, etc. You will not be sorry. Do a search for both hipotek and superchips on this forum to do a little research. I don't know of anyone who was sorry they got either.

My engine is a little different than yours, but I can definitely say the Superchips is worth it.

can't really speak for that since I never dyno'd my truck and it probably isn't worth it but trust me it will make a huge difference in acceleration and the extremely aggressive shifts. just do it if you've got the cash..can't go wrong

Not sure if anyone has actually dynoed the difference, but you will definitely know you have more power and better shifting.

Ok I guess I will be the first to ask how much is involved in swapping out the throttle body? Is it a bolt on bolt off project? I looked up the superchip tuner and it appeared to be a tad on the technical side, ordering the tuner then setting it although the tips on this forum seemed in depth not sure this is something I feel confident in doing to my daily driver.....

Can some of you that have done these mods weight in???

Throttle body is bolt off/bolt in. Three hold it in. Gotta remove the throttle and cruise control cables. Not hard at all. Not sure if there is a picture write up on here, maybe google that. As far as the tuner is concerned, get it, plug it in and follow the prompts (load the tow tune for the biggest bang). The tuner will need to be updated probably, make sure you are connected to internet hardwired (not wireless), it updates best when your internet connection is via ethernet.
