Default Opinions on the rough country 2.5/1.5 lift?

Hi all, so ive been contemplating whether or not I should get the rough country lift kitthat comes with the rear shocks for just over $200 shipped. Have any of you had it installed and what ate your opinions? How was the install? Any problems. My other alternative is just getting a trail master 1.5" levelling kit and was wondering how the ease of install is woth the TM kit. Any inputs and/or opinions are gladly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Do you have a link to the kit you are interested in? It is not clear in your post. Does the title imply it is a 2.5" leveling kit for the front and 1.5" helper springs or blocks for the rear and it comes with new rear shocks? Do you need new rear shocks?

Any leveling kit requires dissassembly of the front end to remove the strut. The lower strut mounting bolt can be a pita to remove. If you get a spacer that goes into the strut as opposed to over the strut also requires dissassembly of the strut. How "easy" that is is hard to predict. Depends on your skill level.

Yes, it has the levelling kit up front and blocks in the rear. The kit is a good value overall but some posts have been advising to stay away bit that was from several years ago. Im starting to lean towards the front levelling kit from TM. My skill level is probably novice but I have several friends who are mechanics. I always want to see if I can do it myself first but the last time ive done suspension work alone was with Hondas.

I can't give you any information on the specific lift your looking at.

I can give you my opinion of my 2" Supreme System (2" spacer and 1" blocks on stock shocks)

my kit was delivered for under $200.00 to my home (Canadian) I paid a garage to install it and he had no issues.

I upgraded to 10 ply Firestone Destination MT's (265's on factory 16" wheels) and noticed a very stiff ride, I am happy with the look and over-all performance, however I am now doing a search for new socks as my kit did not include any...

You can buy directly from the manufacture (like I did) or on ebay.

Hope this helps!

http://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-le...t-kit-397.html this one..with the options. I would buy it because you know it is high quality. You can get it all cheaper via ebay but this is reliable..only thing is i you're 4x4 you may want to stay at a 2" front lift max. The shocks have to be atleast better than OEM..probably similar to the Monroe/Rancho shocks you can buy for these

Quality because you're buying from a reputable company as opposed to Chinese knockoffs sold on eBay.

Just a suggestion, but consider the 2" front differential drop kit that JMR offers to preserve your CV axles. Personally I would have definitely gotten the kit from Rough Country if mine didn't come with a leveling kit already installed since the RC kit comes with the longer shocks.
