Dealers, you would think they would be the best trained techs, know what they are doing and fix it properly the first visit. This is never the case dealer don't appear to know there behinds from a hole in the ground, never stock any parts, and charge way to much. The only time I came away from the dealer in one visit for service work was for an oil change. They are to cheap to stock parts so you always have a min of two visits.I vote for the idea of online sales and service centers too.

Not all dealerships are that way, you can't lump them all into the same category. I know a few bad ones and a few good ones myself.

Angry 1300 quote...neverending

I took my 2010 dakota to be looked at the dealership for engine light. They said I needed a tune up.
1. New plug wiresI replaced slave wires
2. PCM reflashed
3. missing a ground wire (aftermarket radio was installed with truck when I bought the truck)because my a/c flickers on an offFixed
5. Battery cable needs to be sautered for a new terminal.FIXED

Why would my pcm need reflashing?

Well since the last time I posted the original post...
1. I replaced spark plug with champion plugs...gapped at .040 (parts shopped said that factory recommended) that lasted a month if even less. Engine light flashed or stayed on.

2.Regapped at .035, that lasted month or less (Engine light flashed or stayed on)

3. Week ago I replaced spark plugs with autolites 3923 gapped at .035 that lasted 3 days(Engine light flashed or stayed on)

4.Today gapped .040 that lasted 1 hour(Engine light flashed or stayed on)

I'm starting to regret buying this truck.

Would re flashing pcm help?
This more than spark plug issue...?

thnx

There's only one way to find out what's causing the CEL. What's the code causing the CEL?

Thats weird, my 06 3.7L has 6 coils, zero slave wires. Maybe they changed it and removed the waste spark setup.
