Roof Leak
I wonder if anyone else has this problem.
My new 05 Dakota, with 6,000 miles to it, has started leaking like a convertable with holes. Leaks from the drivers headliner like a faucet, drips through the headliner, drips out of the windshield post molding, and puddles in the passenger floor.
The local dealer says it is a "body seam leak" and since they don't have a body shop they can't fix it. I have to take it back to where I bought it 60 miles away at the "5 star" dealership in Orlando to be fixed.
Both Dodge corporate and the dealer say tough luck about the problems and expense for a rental car this down time will cause, and neither will talk about hidden damage from all this water inside the truck.
I don't want this fixed; I want it replaced. This is my second Dodge, and from the way their treating me probably my last one.
I've started a discussion with the state Consumer Services Commission and will ram (no pun intended) this truck down Dodge's throat under the lemon law if the problems persis.

if u can get them on the lemon law thing i would take them to court! that or if u can get them on the lemon law thing, give them 1 last change to fix the problems with the leak and ALL of the hidden damamge from the water leaking. if it will cost them a lot they may jus offer u another truck?
I sent some strong emails to both Dodge and the dealer last night, and low and behold I got and email for Dodge saying they have opened and "investigation" into the problem, and the dealer has a rental car waiting for me.
Well I got the Dak yesterday. They provided a Neon, and while inconvenient I can't complain. They calim they found the seam leak, and filled it. When I asked if this was back to factory spec they hemmed and hawwed, and said it was the approved repair.
I just finished washing the truck, and guess what; a hand sized puddle on the passenger side :-(

Took it back for the third time, and they said they found a "bored out" screw hole on the drip rail, which they filled (whatever that means).
The truck sat out through 12 hours of pouring rain from Wilma on Monday; and collected a dinner plate sized puddle on the passenger side, and water was dripping out the driver's door post.
Sent in my forms yesterday under the Florida Lemon Law to force them to replace or refund on this truck.

Victory, a 2006 Ram1500 replacement under the Lemon Law now sits in my driveway.

Followed the Lemon Law requirements to the letter. Right down to not making any marks on the repair invoices.
After Diamler Chrysler accepted that I met the criterian they were dragging their feet, so I filed for a State Consumer Affairs arbitration, after that the Dodge Boys settled up.
Not a straight swap, but I got the full MSRP for the Dakota, plus 5% toward the RAM. If I had taken a Dakota instead I could have gotten a slight upgrade at no cost.
