I don't have the factory tow package I don't think. Do ALL models of Dakota have a trailer harness at the rear end? And thanks for the idea about the on/off switch but I'd prefer to avoid the extra switch.

Mine is wired that way, so you park the truck, turn off the lights and go to get something out of the bed. No lights! Or, someone leaves the light on in the cap, shuts the truck off and the next time you drive at night, the light shines in your mirror.

I think (not sure yet) that when I put my new LED light bar in there, I will rewire to an un-switched source, then use the switch on the light bar.
