2006 RWD wheel bearing
So my front passenger wheel bearing is growling and I need to replace. Only bearing I've done so far is on a 4x4 S10. On my RWD are there any tricks to it, is it just the locking nut and the three bolts for the hub assembly?
Thanks,
David

Easy peasy!
It is the exact same procedure as the 4-wheel drive, but you don't have the lock nut to remove (there is no front axle to get out of there!)
The part is the same for 4wd and 2wd. Front ABS have a sensor, so more money if you have that.
From the factory service manual!
HUB / BEARING
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the brake caliper and rotor (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/ROTORS - REMOVAL).
4. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor if equipped, (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL/FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR - REMOVAL).
5. Remove the halfshaft nut 4X4 only.
NOTE: Do not strike the knuckle with a hammer to remove the tie rod end or the ball joint. Damage to the steering knuckle will occur.
6. Pull down on the steering knuckle to separate the halfshaft from the hub/bearing. 4X4 only
7. Remove the three hub/bearing mounting bolts (3) from the steering knuckle (4).
8. Slide the hub/bearing (1) out of the steering knuckle (4).
9. Remove the brake dust shield (5).
INSTALLATION
1. Install the brake dust shield (5).
2. Install the hub/bearing (1) into the steering knuckle (4) and tighten the bolts (3) to 163 N·m (120 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the brake rotor and caliper (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/ROTORS - INSTALLATION).
4. Install the ABS wheel speed sensor (4) if equipped (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/ELECTRICAL/FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR - INSTALLATION).
5. Install the halfshaft nut and tighten to 251 N·m (185 ft. lbs.) 4X4 only.
6. Install the wheel and tire assembly (Refer to 22 - TIRES/WHEELS/WHEELS - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
7. Remove the support and lower vehicle.
Guaranteed it will not be as easy as this states. FSMs don't consider rust . . .

Yeah, I'm in the process of replacing mine now... Unfortunately, the hub assembly is being a total PITA! It's rusted in there good and have several ideas...but, not sure the best way to get it out. I've looked at several hub removal tools online, but all of them are based on the principle that there is an axle there to push against. The only option I've seen (tool wise) is the slide hammer tool, but that also seems to not be all too great if your hub is stuck real good. Any suggestions before I hammer the S*** out of it?
Penetrating oil, lots, over several days.
Heat, cold, heat, cold. Then, with a BFH, hammer the S*!t out of it.

Well, Unless I stumble across a Hub Grappler...there goes my weekend lol. Guess it's a good thing the girlfriend and her family left the house for the next few days to visit New York...I'd hate to submit them to the amount of profanity that is most likely to ensue.
