Low idle, oil light flashes
ok having an issue on my '05 4.7 after driving for a while when I come to stop the oil pressure light will flash on (just long enough to catch if watching) oil pressure on auxiliary gauge (auto meter) shows 12.5 psi, may drop to 10 psi. Sending unit replaced with one from dealer, but is for a newer truck as the one for the '05 is discontinued. Using scan tool I see when light pops on idle is down to 580 rpm, and stays only for a few seconds, rest of time is 620 rpm. AC has no effect on idle, oil pressure is in spec according to service manual. If I touch the gas enough to raise the rpm it won't flash. I have a new IAC valve (old one broke when engine was being rebuilt) engine was recently rebuilt and ALL clearances were checked and were right on spec (middle of spec, was a new crank and rods) cleaned throttle body with no results. I am at the end of my ideas. Anyone have an idea?
So if you didn't have that drop to 580, this wouldn't happen. Maybe the computer just needs more time to learn? How long have you been driving since rebuild? Has the battery been disconnected in that time?
Sounds like the oil pressure monitoring system is doing what it's supposed to, and there's an issue with the idle being too low.
Were any of the engine sensors and controllers replaced with non-OEM during the rebuild?

Strange. I had an idle problem that fixed itself after 200 miles or so last year, theres a thread on it https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-problems.html. I've also had an idle problem that turned out to be a weak battery.

may have found something, tonight I was driving with the scan tool hooked up watching the data, and noticed the EGR was getting a 99.2 error rate any time the throttle was moved. I did have an exhaust leak at the EGR (reman head had a heli coil not inserted properly and I didn't notice until I had it running and heard the noise). I plan on pulling the EGR back off and cleaning it really well, or possibly replacing it if it sticks, and go from there.
During the rebuild, was the oil pump replaced? Or at least was it measured to make sure it was in spec?
I know you said all clearances were checked, but I've seen the oil pump overlooked on occasion.
