Default Help finding the best lift

So im new to this off road world. I have a stock 2007 Quad Cab SLT 4x4 And looking to lift it. I've searched locally around my area and found one shop that can do a 2.5 inch lift. Does anyone know if there's a higher lift than that? Im looking to sit nice and high
Or is that 2.5 a good lift on Dakotas

Do not go over 2" with a 4x4. It will tear the front end apart. Add a 3" body lift you can get 5" total lift. Any higher your looking at major money. Search "Jack my ride" to see what involved with that custom lift.

So you're saying a 2 inch suspension lift with a 3 inch body lift?

Yes, a 2" leveling kit and a 3" body lift. Performance Accessories makes the body lift, and there are a few options for the 2" leveling kit, with Daystar being the most used.

There is no front "suspension lift". They are "leveling kits". They install over or in the front strut assemblies. Then either blocks or helper springs for the rear. Pretty simple stuff. You should also think about replacing your struts while your in there. Factory struts are weak. Go with rancho or Monroe.

Okay i get it now. I've been waiting to do this for along time now.
And that will make a good ground clearing height...
Tires....32inch should fit without problem?

I ran 265/75-17 with a 2" kit. (Roughly 32.5"). Had minor rubbing on the inner fender liner during turns. If you would please do some searching and reading of existing threads and visit the FAQ section. These topics have been discussed a few thousand times. All the answers you need are here if you take a little bit of time and search your questions.

We got all the info you need. No problems in asking questions, all I'm saying is search first because it's probably been answered already. Lets see some pics of the beast.....

If you have not already, check the front end, known weak points. Tie rod ends, sway bar end links, previously mentioned struts, ball joints, etc. The problem with going over 2" leveling kit is it puts all the front end geometry at extreme angles that they are not designed to run at. Even 2" is pushing it, so be prepared for premature failure of those parts, especially if you do a lot of off roading, or flexing the front suspension. Most use rock auto for replacement parts, Moog. Front struts are a PIA to replace because the lower strut bolt is usually "fused" to the bushing and extremely difficult to remove.

Sorry if I came across the wrong way. Just saying there is a ton of info here. If you can't find the answer, by all means, ask.

If your looking for engine performance upgrades, look into a superchips tuner. E-fan, aftermarket intake, bored throttlebody . Have you done a tune up yet? Stick with copper core plugs. These engines do not like the fancy platinum or iridium plugs.

Heres a pic when i first got her, ill post more along the way when i fix her up.

No worries its cool. I started looking and there is alot of stuff on here. But yeah ill keep it at 2" level and 3" body lift. Ive seen some pics and looks sweet at that hieght.

Ill look into getting those upgrades too then. I dont do any off roading now, but once i have the lift going i sure will.
