You should try posting your issue in the Ram section.This thread is 3 yrs old.Your issue may very well be a plugged egr valve,worth a look for only a gasket.

I had the same issue with my 99 xtra cab 4x4. I found one of my front brake callipers sticking. I pulled it apart and checked the caliper piston and it was ok. Next I cleaned the caliper slides with a wire brush then applied grrease. Problem went away and it has ben months since I did the repair
