Need suggestions
I did a search and read quite a bit of info but would still like some suggestions and feedback on the front end.
So, last year I replaced the shocks on my 2007 Dak with a standard replacement from Rock Auto and holy freaking crap do they suck. What is it with the front end "float" on this truck?
I'm looking for a firmer shock for the front. Can I get some suggestions please.
My 92 Dak rides soooo much nicer to the point that it makes me really want to sell this 2007 and buy something else.
Thanks.

Monroe Quickstruts give what most people agree to be the best ride quality. As a bonus they are damn easy to install since they come preassembled to a new spring. They're a bit pricey so you can get just the Reflex strut by itself.
If you do any offroading the Rancho shocks are the stiffest onroad and best offroad you can buy (9 valve shock). They're also the most expensive at over $100 per shock. I use them without a sway bar and they are still extremely stiff.

I'm pretty sure that I ordered Monroe that I put on there last year.
Any dip in the road and I'm floating. I friggin hate it.
I don't off road. I just want the front to not act like it's gonna bounce to the moon on the highway, or in town for that matter. I feel like I'm in a boat.

If you did order Monroe, you may have ordered the Monro-matic plus strut, the Reflex is the better Monroe strut that some guys have here.
I had the same unsafe bounce in the front end that you're talking about, it was scary at times. With the Ranchos, the bounce was, and still is gone.
FYI: October is Rancho 'Shocktober' promo, buy 4 Ranchos and you get a rebate for one (cheapest one of course).

Pretty sure it was this one. Part Number: 23998-07138484, Monroe Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly
It's the only one that has the whole assembly from Parts Geek. Regardless, they are WAY too bouncey for me, and yes, sometimes it feels a little scary, especially at 85 mph.
Pretty sure I'm gonna order up the Ranchos.
Thanks.

This might be the problem - these aren't sports cars . . .
