wheels
The wheels will fit. but it will be pushed out an inch from the stock stance. Stock wheel offset is 25.44 mm, the lower offset will cause some tires to rub when turning, not to mention more stress on the wheel bearings and wheel lugs. But some guys have put on wheels with a zero offset on their Dakotas.

Rim and Tire Setup
I had 265/70R16s on 16x8 rims with a +12 offset and 1/4" spacer with no rub. But I also had a 1.5" leveling kit. I now have 265/65R17 on 17x9 rims with -12 offset and no spacer. Had to trim about 3/8" off the bottom corner of the bumper. Tires are General Grabber AT2. A less aggressive tread may not have rubbed.

I had General Grabber AT2 in 245/75R16 mounted on my stock 16x8 wheels and it worked great even though General Tire ways 6.5 to 7.5 inch width. Keep in mind that not all tires will be able to hold up to that, so don't cheap out, but alot of other 245/75R16 tires do say 6.5 to 8 such as the Goodyear DuraTrac tires.
that extra half inch of wheel really just equates to an extra quarter inch that each sidewall has to come out by, which is not that much. i wouldn't run a 245/75R16 on a 9 inch wheel.
