Default Hey yall!!! Fenders.

So new to the forum. I have an 07 dakota 4door 4x4 with a 3inch body lift and the leveling kit. Some American racing wheels.... well last month it was at a friend's house while we were on the lake and the house burnt. I am in the process of rebuilding. Well I'm in the paint stage atm. My big question is on are front fenders there are some plastic body moldings like a built in mud flap I can't think of a way to get rid of them because are fenders look like crap with out them but sometimes the rub a tire. What aftermarket flairs do you guys run? Also I'm thinking of cutting them since they are still in prime to eliminate the body molding part. But just figured I'd get some 2nd opinions I'll post pics tonight.

Those are called splash guards. As far as flares go, there are two choices, aftermarket Bushwacker flares or OEM Mopar 2008 Dakota TRX flares. The TRX flares are on my 06. You will remove the splash guards to install the flares.

So after looking at many flare's I decided I'm going to custom cut the front.... eliminating about 1.5 inch of fender all the way around and the complete bottom where the splash guard mounts. Hmmm I'm also on my last coat of primer tonight before paints. In case anyone wants to know I'm painting her gasser green. Front bumper is in the works made out of 14 gauge with a 12k Warren winch.

Good progress so far, I bet it's gonna look great when it's all done.
Can't wait to see the new front bumper completed.

I cut mine. Later, I bought fiberglass front fenders for 6" wider stance (prerunner style). Rears are still cut. I was able to cut the factory front fenders and put the mudgaurds back on, creatively trimmed, before I swapped them out. Looked pretty good. Your truck might be too nice looking for that sort of thing.
