Hey all!
I have just bought a Quad Cab 2WD automatic transmission 2005 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 Magnum V8 and it has 76,000 miles on it. I'm now looking into buying a camper to tow behind it, but I can't pin down what the towing capacity is for the truck. I have called various different places and looked all over the internet, but I keep getting different numbers. Some say 3500 others say up to 7000. Can anyone here tell me a little about what I can expect for a towing capacity on this truck?

2005 & 2007 are the same numbers

One other note on towing capacities...if you check your owner's manual, it will probably tell you that you need a WD hitch above 3500 lbs. So, you'll get two numbers: one with the WD hitch (about 7K) and one without the WD hitch (about 3500 lbs).
