Default I need to turn off the alarm on my dodge dakota 2008

Dear friends of the forum, first of all congratulate you because it is a large library of solutions for these beautiful wonders. I appreciate comment on how I can disable the alarm dodge dakota 2008 as a day to day control stopped working, change battery, change the receiver module and did not work and the dealer is charging me $ 4500 to change almost everything including ecu , here in chile dodge support is woefully bad.

Welcome to Dodge Forum! What alarm are you referring to? The antitheft system?

Not sure if this helps you at all, from the owners manual.

SECURITY ALARM SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED

This system monitors the vehicle doors and ignition for
unauthorized operation. When the alarm is activated, the
system provides both audible and visual signals. The
horn will sound repeatedly for 3 minutes and the headlights
and security light in the instrument cluster will
flash for an additional 15 minutes. The engine will not
run until the system is disarmed.

To Set the Alarm:
The alarm will set when you use the power door locks or
use the Keyless Entry transmitter to lock the doors. After
all the doors are locked and closed, the security light in
the instrument cluster will flash rapidly to signal that the
system is arming. The security light in the instrument
panel cluster will flash rapidly for about 15 seconds to
indicate that the alarm is being set. After the alarm is set,
the security light will flash at a slower rate to indicate
that the system is armed.

NOTE: If the security light stays on continuously during
vehicle operation, have the system checked by your
dealer.

To Disarm the System:
Use the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter to unlock the
doors. If something has triggered the system in your
absence, the horn will sound three times when you
unlock the doors. Check the vehicle for tampering.
The security system will also disarm, if the vehicle is
started with a programmed Sentry Key. If an unprogrammed
Sentry Key is used to start a vehicle, the engine
will start and run for 2 seconds and then shut down.
After six unsuccessful attempts at starting the engine, the
system will shut down until the correct key is used. To
exit alarming mode, press the transmitter Unlock button
or start the vehicle with a programmed Sentry Key.
The security alarm system is designed to protect your
vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the
system will arm unexpectedly. If you remain in the
vehicle and lock the doors with the transmitter, the alarm
will sound when you pull the door handle to exit.

NOTE: You may accidentally activate the security system
(horn sounds and lights flash) by entering the vehicle
without using the key fob to unlock the door(s). The
security system can be disarmed with the key fob’s
UNLOCK button or by inserting a programmed Sentry
Key into the ignition and turning the key to the ON
position.

Now if you have an aftermarket alarm system, that is a whole different issue.

Default Espero encontrar solución rapido

Dear I have tried everything even the error is very rare because the sentry key does not even work a new schedule but the auto and walk without problems but with the horn sounding and the lights on, I did so urgent as the called out so costly repair was disconnect the horn and so the lights are kept on for a couple of minutes and then work fine. when everything stops ringing and light the door unlock driver and passenger do not work and does not stop so the keys are valid, for the same reason I want to disable or turn off the alarm, there are some who speak of a cable's to cut and isolate but not exactly if this procedure is used, and also the company is authorized to dodge to 1000 km in Santiago, Chile. I hope I can help and I send Chilean wine and beer gift. Greetings and thank you very much for your dedication.

You will get these symptoms when something in the pre-start ignition system either fails or has been changed (your key code sensor or something like it may have failed), and the dealership should have the knowledge to bypass and reset or reflash to get your truck working again. Most non-dealership garages won't be able to help you, but you may find some "ECU hackers" around that could help.

If your local dealership doesn't know how to disable or bypass the security system on your truck, they should call the dealership support and get specific step-by-step instructions on how to do this. These instructions won't be readily available to the public for security reasons - if anyone could bypass this system, there wouldn't be much sense in having it installed.

You know something, this is something of a huge longshot, but disconnect your battery for an hour or more, then reconnect it. Sometimes this reset will fix all sorts of electrical problems.

If anything take out the fuse for the power locks so you don't arm it by accident when you get out just you have manually lock/unlock the doors each time.
It's better than not having a horn

A fuse that you mean? I revice visual and even a tester and all the relays are ok. And the error U0168 gives me a couple of suggestions of solution should therefore measure continuity in the wiring. They know no way desabilitacion by software, but by that or traveling 1000 km to the dealer. Greetings.
