2006 Dakota R/T

What mods did you have to beat stock R/T's?

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. My point was the only exterior difference on the sec gen was wheels and the r/t graphic. Everything else on the outside was the same. Grill, flares, and bumper were the standard sport package. i had an 02 sport cc 2wd 4.7 5 speed. I ate several stock r/t's. I sure do miss that truck!

Air intake was the only mod. A 4.7 5 speed will beat a "r/t" with a slushbox most of the time. Depending on the driver of course. Think about it there was only 15 horse between the 4.7 and the 5.9. But the 5.9 weighs about 80 pounds more, plus the 4.7 came in a 5 speed. The 5.9 was a slushbox only. There was the main difference. The four speed auto dc was using at that time was junk.

ok, i went to the dealership to see how much they charge for an oil change (31 dollars btw), and i see a rack of little pamplets about the dodge lineup, and i see one pamplet (well it is really just a card) and i think its a rumblebee Ram because i see the hood with the hoodscoop. I go to get a closer look and it says 2006 Dakota R/T. I immediatly picked it up to find out more about it. On the card it tells about all the features. the features are as listed
*HO V8 magnum that produces 260hp and 310tq
*Body-color grille, front fascia, rear bumper and side moldings
*Unique chrome exhaust tip
*Hood scoop with "V8 High Output" decals on both sides
*17x8-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels
*satin silver door handles and center stack trim bezel
*Instrument cluster with R/T graphic
*Dual-color R/T decals on both sides of cargo bed
*R/T stitched logo on both front bucket seat head restraints
it really looks nice, i wish i wouldve waited to buy a dak, but oh well, ill just buy the hood/grille and paint my front bumper, and it will look just as good
anyone else heard of this?

Really nice truck ... I have the same truck! Except my hood scope is painted black (flame red). I've had it now for three years. I'm currently restoring mine, as it has some minor rust issues on the rear fenders (typical) and some small dents on the tailgate. In this sub they say that this is just a SLT badged over with R/T ... but for those of us that know, it's all about that engine. Most people think it's the H.O. cams that make it special. Well for the most part yes but not only that the whole bottom end of this engine has forged internals, beefier valve springs, hydraulic rockers that squirt the oil directionaly making it almost bullet proof. Hell even the harmonic balancer is different. Coupled together with a stock 545 RFE and 3.92 rear gear set this truck apart. It's a head turner for sure.
