Default Heater not working

2005 Dakota. When I turn on the heater it's not blowing any air out. Saturday, worked fine. We had some ice on Saturday night. So Sunday I decided to unthaw the truck. Heater and defroster worked fine. This morning, go out and start the truck, nothing. I have replaced both the blower motor and resistor in the past...which has been several years ago. I can't figure out if it's the blower motor, blower motor resistor, or maybe a fuse. How can I tell which?

Do you have power to the blower motor?

Start with the fuse. Then move on to verifying power at the motor.

So where is the fuse panel and which fuse would it be? I looked in the owners manual, it said page 328. Page 328 doesn't tell you either where the fuse panel is, or which fuse it would be, or even give you a layout of the fuse panel.

Under the hood, #35, the diagram will be on the back side of the fuse box cover.

I checked #35. It's listed as a spare and is empty. I did notice that the #1 fuse, which is a 40 amp, says "Ignition and Blower Motor." If I'm not wrong, and that's the fuse for the blower motor and ignition, if it was bad the truck wouldn't start, and it does start.

I just looked at the 2005 Owners Manual online, and you are correct that it directs you to Page 328, which only mentions the Fuse Box. In the 06 Manual, it refers you to page 337, and lists all of the fuses by description and Amps. And it's really strange that the fuse boxes are not identical between these two years, why on earth would they change the fuse locations for the 2nd year model of this generation of Dakota? Even the 2008 is the same as the 06, with the minor refresh updates. Maybe the 05 uses the left over 2004 Dakota fuse boxes.

Simply...Dodge...

It could also be the switch, you need to figure out where the power shuts off.

IIRC, when I turned the truck on on Monday morning, the heater was initially blowing air. I turned on the heat/defrost setting. Went back inside for a few minutes, came back out, and noticed there wasn't any air blowing out of the vents. I'm thinking I'll try replacing the blower motor first. If it's not that, then I can just send the blower motor back...I hope.
