Hello all,

I have a 2007 TRX4 3.7 w/6 speed manual, 178,000 miles. I am preparing to do my CV axles soon. The rest of the front end has been done in the last two years. I was looking on Rock Auto and see a variety of CV axle choices from around $60 to $250. The only ones that mention being for the TRX4 off road package are the Mopar ones. The other cheaper ones don't say anything about TRX4.

Do I have to get the more expensive ones or will the others work? Is there something different about the way they go on/fit, or is it just that the TRX4 ones are beefier/heavy duty but they all fit the same?

There was absolutely no difference with or without the TRX Group Package. Rockauto lists TRX, Part time 4WD, and Full time 4WD for that part. They just list every possible model there for some unknown reason. I can't advise which one to get, maybe some opinions on brands will follow this post.

 

Thanks Dakotaff, good info. I’d love to hear feedback on brands/which ones others may have bought that were good. I’m not opposed to spending the money on getting parts that will last, but if the inexpensive ones are pretty good I’ll go that route. I just don’t want to have to be doing this again any time soon. My originals did really well, 12 years I cannot complain about that!
