So, I got the FSM from another post on this forum, and it has diagnostic steps for trouble shooting the codes I'm getting (P2302 and P301), but I dont think my code scanner can do what it telling me to. Its telling me to use a scan tool to actuate the asd relay.. I'm assuming there is a higher end scan tool that I need for this operation.. one that I do not have. Or is there a way to do this with out a scan tool?

 

The FSM is referring to dealer equipment, your scanner cannot help further, it will only read the code(s).

Switch coil 1 with another cylinder, and see if the issue goes with it.

 

I figured that, coil one keeps exploding, I've been through 4 coils now. Its not just a miss fire, something else is going on (at least I believe there is). Its being very consitent, its like the coil is being over charged or something. every thing else works as it should, radio, reverse, 4wd, etc.

 

Are you sure the spark plug is good? Using OEM coppers, right?
