Check Car-Part, a lot of their listing have pictures, and you can search for painted grilles. If you don't find a blue one near you, either expand your search, and let them ship it, ir get any color and then sand & paint it.

Or call some local junkyards for the same part.

i've been through carparts.com and only 3 came up and none of them are for a 3rd gen dakota. had many more come up on EBAY, but all of those are covered in that cheap 'chrome' tape. anyone else got an idea or has bought a grill with out chrome on it? or has anyone bought a grill without tape on it and where or have you removed the tape from one before and how did you do it?

Not sure why you refer to the chrome as tape, but you can sand it down and paint the chrome grill. Read this thread.

Unless you find one at a local junkyard that you can inspect in person, below is one available (I foundat least 8 of them) that's painted, and it's the cheapest that I found.

this is why i call it tape, you cant chrome plastic, you can chrome steel

its just a covering like tape. I dont think sanding and painting it would do any good if it just peels off better to peel it off and then paint.

2005-2007 is the same exact grill, pay no attention to the listing info, that will fit your 05. They most likely list it as 06-07 due to that color of paint being offered during those years.

Damn, those stock grills pretty much cost double nowadays. It's great that you found one for a hundred.
