--------------------------------
i got my AirRaid Complete system today....installation was hella easy for a guy like me who has done only simple things in the past (i.e. changing oil, flush radiator, replacing hoses). Wow what an improvement, sound is great, pickup is amazingly better, i actually can feel it and see it somewhat.

Went for my first little test drive and sounded awesome. Came back, tightend everything up, then went on a longer drive, and drove through this empty neighborhood. Well in the middle of the street i come upn there were like 10 12-14 boys on their bikes blocking the road splashing in some runoff water. Well anyways they start yelling at me to "peal out"...now i havent pealed out in a truck ever, did it in a trans-am once, but since ive only owned front wheel drive cars. Anyways i stop in the puddle and the kids are all cheering, i give it a rev or two and one little kid yells out "hes gunna do it!!!" they all back up. I let the thing rip and im thrust back into the seat, the wheels try hard to gain traction and i fishtail slightly, i make some squeals and the truck just takes off, i hear the screams of kids, smell some rubber, and then look in the rear view to see them all jumpin up and down screaming and waving at me. It was awesome, made every single penny i spent on this setup worth it

Anyways attached are some images and a link to a video so you can hear the sound.

I paid 210 for mine. I don't feel as much of a difference with mine. I think that's because of the AWD. I also have to go back an make some adjustments since the dealership didn't do it completely right. It does have a cool sound though. I love hearing it too and I have pressed the pedal quite a bit more than usual.

If you turn off the radio, you can hear it sucking air. I recommend it to anybody.

I'm going with the K&N intake for my truck

9hp to the wheels is worth the $255 for it

That's what the Air Raid system is giving too, plus 10#s of torque and it uses the bottom of the stock air box to help keep the hot air out.

Cool. Think the AirRaid will be on my next shopping list. Sounds like it does pretty much the same as the K&N but at a cheaper cost. Budget is everything sometimes.

I don't know the most about engines, but I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was thinking of starting with the Air Raid cold intake. He said that I should save my money and buy headers to replace the manifold at the same time. He explained that it would do no good to push more air into the engine if the engine couldn't put more air out. Any truth to that?

In a sense, he's right, but headers are the answer. He should have told you the exhaust system. But the CAI will allow it to breath inward better. There are many things that you can do. The CAI is the first step and is usually cheaper than the headers and the exhaust.
