Default 08 Dodge Dakota Dropped project

Keeping the love for Dakotas going. I found a seller on ebay that makes custom lowering kits. Im not sure if they are a reliable seller. Has anyone lowered theirs? What issues do yall think i would run into?

are you lowering a 2WD or 4WD Dakota? if it's a 4WD Dakota, my next question would be WHY?

a link to the kit or the seller would be a good idea as well so we can know who or what you are buying.

At a 3-inch front drop from having the spring perch lower on the strut vs stock, I would question the range of travel that you'll have upfront with these. It doesn't look like you'll have much suspension left over after the drop. Make sure you have spring compressors and know how to use them to take the old strut apart as you reuse the spring and spring cap from your old struts, unless you purchase new ones at the same time. The rear is an axle flip which will drop it 5 inches. I would worry about the pinion angle once you are done. There's no mention that this kit will correct the pinion angle for such a drop. Make sure to check it to make sure your rear u-join will not grenade itself too quickly.

Also, do you have the V6 or the V8 in your Dakota? This kit only fits the V8 as you need the 9.25 rear axle. the V6 only comes with the 8.25.

it seems like the seller does a lot of custom-lowering stuff, the rest of their stuff looks to be well-made.

Some of us like being able to load stuff in a truck without the need of a ladder and not get stuck in wet grass at the county fair.

Ya'll really saying you wouldn't enjoy the heck out of something like this? It's 4WD after all. Ya'll forgot about trucks like the GMC Cyclone too?

The cyclone and typhoon didn't have that much of a drop compared to their normal cousins, but the suspension components were designed for it. and that hoonigan was designed from the ground up with a chassis and suspension to be that ride height.

using the stock a arms and control arm up front with that radical of a drop is asking or issues with the ball joints, plus, the as i mentioned before, it looks like you'll only have an inch or so of compression on those modified struts
