Limp Mode and 10 minutes before restart issue
I have had my 2005 Dakota in for service and so far have found there is a grounding issue with circuit 16 that causes the truck to go into limp mode if I do not wait 10 minutes to restart the truck after use. This happens every time I try to start the truck if I dont wait the ten minutes. If I wait the ten minutes something must be reseting. If I drive in limp mode the red gear light comes on and then shortly after the enginelight also comes on with a trouble code lost communication with TCM. I took a 2500 km trip and as long as I waited the ten minutes to restart after stopping for gas I worked great with no issues. Anybody else dealt with this issue and gound a fix. It is certainly livable but annoying. I wonder how many have got rid of their truck not knowing the ten minute wait rather than having to driving in limp mode. An engine code reset also works to keep from going into limp mode. When turning the ignition to accessories, the little square light behind the PRNDL display disappears until you wait the ten minutes. Once it resets the square behind the P appears and you can drive as long as you want with no engine lights coming on until you stop and dont wait ten minutes before starting.
