Yeah it's a nice option for power....whether it be a Ram-Air setup or for cooling

This is the only hood I've seen (other than the "Shaker" hood that FontanaMotorsports had a link to before)....It's called the T/A Six Pack Hood....

RKSport (www.rksport.com) which makes stuff for GM cars (& other stuff now) is the one that made/makes the hood.....they have a pic of the truck on their website, but they don't list it for sale.

They sell the same style hood for the Dodge Ram though....cost is $795!!!!!

Here's a pic of the truck though:

I know that it sounds like a lot, but they told me around $800. But that doesn't include painting which would be about another $400-500.

WOW!

See....that adds up quickly!! $1,200 for a hood????
Better be Ram Air and give you a huge performance gain...LOL j/k

That's 1/4 of the cost of the supercharger though

Yeah it would be nice to have a functional hood but don't forget there's more to it than just a hole in the hood. It's gotta have functional weep holes to carry the water (cause it's gonna rain every now and then)out & away from the CAI and engine.

I would love to get one,one that works.I feel that spending the money a new hood with a no-functional hood scoop is just as cheesey as a non functional convertable or even worse "wrongeful badges"mountings!!!

Yup...I totally agree

Hood scoop might make it look better from far away and look like an aftermarket hood, but it really is cheesy when you see it up close.

It's held on the to the hood with some adhesive...lol

For a comparison, if you've seen the "Rumble Bee" hood and then looked at a Ram SRT-10 hood.....you'll definitely want the SRT-10 hood.

But then again...it all boils down to $$$$

the r/t hood scoop if the same as ram scoop like i said on another thread. is actually bolted on. ive put a few of them on some rams before, i think that is where they should stay actually. still mad they didnt do anything special with the r/t. could not wait to see what they were gonna do with em and then i found a flyer on the new car managers desk and my jaw dropped. no hemi, no special wheels, no sport stance or anything. and then you have the fake hood scoop with a h/o 4.7!!![sm=dontgetit.gif]

But, for function and looks... I'll tell you, it would be worth 12 big ones.

Yeah.....it seems like EVERYBODY is disappointed with the R/T (or lack thereof)

You can even get the R/T in a 4x4 version....that just ain't right......supposed to be about performance.....not a 4x4 truck (no offense to you 4x4 guys though)

The decals are really lame....wheels look like crap....needs a HEMI.....non-functional scoop.....and it's got the stock suspenson

The only cool parts (over a regular dakota) are the body color painted bumpers/grille, blacked out headlights, 3.92 axle with LSD, embroidered seats, & the R/T gauges.

And for the price you'd actually pay for an R/T.....you're probably in the range of a Ram with a HEMI anyways!

I seriously hope they change it next year or something.....it's a disgrace to the Dakota R/T name & the previous Dakota R/T
