ok, i have the chrome grill/bumper, because the sport package was not available at the dealership i bought my dak from.

today i was in lubbock and i saw a black dakota like mine with the sport package (i.e body painted grille and bumpers), now ive been batting the idea around to get my grille and bumper painted black (my next door neighbor owns a body shop and does EXCELLENT work, and he gave me a quote of $550)

so im stuck now, i really like the black front end, but the chrome is nice too, so whats your opinion, which do you think would look better on a black 05, the chrome or the blacked out look?

Id have to say black it all out :-) That would look awesome. Yeah chrome does look nice, but I think if it was black, it would turn the truck from more of a classy look to an agressive look.

 

yeah, with income tax im going to tint my windows, and black out my headlights, so if i go through with it, im going to powdercoat the rims black (or buy some black rims) and black out the front end and get a black bed cover

When you buy black rims are they simply powdercoated at the factory? If the ones you have now are good, have them done and save some money for more mods!

 

ok, more people say keep the chrome, but they leave no imput on why they feel that way.....wtf man, give me a reason, because im close to using money and getting the **** painted

I have to agree. My last Dak was a Sport and I liked the way it looked over the Chrome package. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Sport when I bought my new Dak. Now I'm making it a Chrom looking truck all the way around.

The Sport package looks very sporty with the all one color. It makes it unique. Get the sport. If I could have boughten the Sport, I would have.

 

i agree, that is very sexy, mine would look like that except i will have blacked out headlights, tinted windows and black rims
