Default Tonneau (3rd Gen)

I am interested in buying a tonneau for my vehicle. I would like suggestions on what is a good brand. I have a 2006 Dakota SLT Club Cab, color Flame Red. I am not mecanically inclined so any tonneau I get would have to be easy for me to install.

autoanything always is having sales on the extangs. I have a extang trifecta and love it. super easy to install, two scew ons and two clamp ons hold it in place even at 100mph +

Check with your dealership. They have several different types of tonneaus. I bought a folding/locking top. Paid $740 and I believe it's easy to install.

Does anyone have a truxedo on their Dakota? My Dad has one on his 04 Ram and it looks nice, just wondering how it compares to the Extang model. I like the fact that my Dad has no problems with his cover during the winter. I like the low pro from truxedo if any one has that one do tell about your experience. One thing that is a must is no snaps, I hate the snaps. I have a club cab that Ive leased so the less drilling the better.

All (99%) of the tonneau covers on the market today DO NOT require any drilling.....they have special under the rail clamps

Installation is a piece of cake.....everything just clamps on to the bed (tighten down screws with a provided allen wrench), snap the bows into place and put the tonneau on

I have the Extang Saber tonneau on my truck. I got it for $200 in October...it's snapless & has the smooth look. It just peels on/off....just like the (more expensive) Mopar version tonneau cover.
www.autoanything.com has the best prices on Extang tonneaus.

Extang has VERY VERY EXCELLENT quality & I highly recommend them. This is my 3rd tonneau I've bought from them (different trucks)
You can check out their website: www.extang.com

The BlackMax & the Platinum are the basic (snap style--excellent quality) tonneaus. Saber & Tuff Tonno are the snapless styles that Extang offers.

I saw a Truxedo cover on a truck before.....it's piece of crap. Quality is cheap and the Velcro is super cheesy....it won't last.

Hi Newark. Check out this website: www.agricover.com . I have this cover, very tough, it is a roll-up type and very easy to install, no drilling. About $450. I see you have been given other choices. You decide.

Hi, I recently purchased an UnderCover from www.truckaddons.com ($650, included shipping and no tax in most cases). I installed it today and it took less than an hour, including clean-up. Easy to use, tough, secure, looks good, and removable. Weighs ~ 60lbs. Water tight with liners. Very impressed with the product. The twist locaks are great, and although you can't see it in the photo there is a light inside. No issues with installation, but contact them first if you have an over the rail drop-in bed liner.

It was packaged very well. Here are a couple of photos, but check out the www.undercoverinfo.com web site for more pics.

I also did a post on this same topic and a lot of people provided some very good information - may want to check it out.

Newark - As you can see I have the SportMasters - TonneauMaster Slant Side on my 05 QC. I like it plenty and it was about 20 minutes to install. It seems to provide a great seal and I really like the look of thesnap style. The one thing I would reccomend with any vinyl tonneau is make sure it is warmed when you first install so that its as stretchable as possible. After that you wont have a problem getting it to fit. Also note the convienience of being able to acces the bed,up by the cab, with the snap style (where I store my cooler & tool box).

I was origonally reccommended to the Extang, but the dealer's preffered supplier used the SportMaster's so since it was a 'throw-in' I couldn't say no. After some reasearch and having it for a month I real happy.
