well, i got my intake installed, and i gotta say, i likey!

it was a little more power, but matched with my JBA Evol exhaust, it sounds NIIIIIICE.

when i let off the gas, it sounds like a weak *** BOV lol.

all in all, i think it was worth it.

Call me ignorant but what is "bov". Also I am curious as to what brand CAI you went with.

Blow off valve....it releases backed up pressure in the intake side of a turbo setup when the gas is let off

i got the K&N 77 series (you can flame me about how it will heat up if you like :P )

and WOOT for today being high of 55. Colder air makes it run very nicely, i can really tell the difference the intake made.

and yes, a BOV is a Blow Off Valve. I wish i really did have a turbo, but not yet...

Get some thermal wrap :-) help keep it a couple degreese cooler. If you have cardboard and duct tape, make a heat shield around the filter itself.

I'm looking into getting the K&N 63-1546 (66 series??) model intake with the plastic tubing. However, you mention how you love the sound of it thru the metal tubing. I had Meineke install a cat-back 2.5" pipe with a Flowmaster 40, and things sound good at low RPMs. At higher rpms, everything seems to go silent. I'm hoping it is due to the lack of a CAI. Anyways, I'm having a tough time deciding between the 63(66?) and the 77 series. Also, I've been eyeballin' the AirRaid system, but from previous posts is seems that everyone prefers the K&N to Airraid??

I personally like the airaid system better. you get about the same numbers as the airaid and can get it around 180 bucks.

yeah, actually, now between 3000-4000 rpms, it gets nociably louder, so the 77series did seem to help out there.

before, my exhaust was loudest at about 200 rpms, but that intake really changed that.
