Default How bad is.....

Ok, my friend had a 94 S10 and everytime he went to do a burnout, he would get massive wheel hop. I have yet to attempt a burnout, because I am afraid of wheel hop. Is it pretty bad in these trucks or no? Cuz if not.....

Lol.

Anytime you have more power going to the wheels than amount of tire surface on the ground you are going to get wheel hop. You can fix this by getting some helper springs installed. I occasionally get wheel hop when taking a turn and excelerating too much at the same time. But the majority of the time when I do this I just squeal out.

You'll get wheel hop in just about any kind of vehicle when putting more power down then the tire can handle. +1 on what white26golf stated.

If your truck is typically a street truck, I'd recommend going to a street/performance tire. I ran Kumho ECSTA STX's on my 2nd gen and man it made a huge world of difference over the Goodyears..... I did alot of ummmmm burnouts

I am planning on getting some street truck tires.... or, on the Daks could I go with a passenger car tire? Like the, BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2??? I REALLY like those tires.

I would so not suggest putting a car tire on a truck.

As for going with a street tire, I will flat out back the Kumho's against just about ANY other Light Truck Performance Tire.....I got a complete set of 4 tires for about $520 with the road hazard. They performed really well. Very little noise that was noticable, and my Dakota ran pretty quiet too. Good grip, even in snow....and I had these in like 15inches of snow. They sucked then, but for the light stuff they responded pretty well.

Honestly, I'm not the only one who will back the Kumho's... They have a nice profile, good tread, a nice look, and they're actually pretty cheap all things considered. These were on a 16 in wheel as well.

Ya, I have looked at the Kuhmos before, also General Grabber UHP looks like a pretty sick tire!

I haven't had any wheel hop but now I'm going to try and see if I can make it do it.

Just be aware that changing the rim size/tire size will offset your payload/hauling capabilities!

I have no plans for towing/hauling anything. Only things I would haul around may weigh about 300 pounds total.

So it's not that big of a loss. Lol
