I cruised on over to the IMCO site to take a look at what they had, and in the description for the pipes, it says "wrinkle bent".

I am going to take a stab at this and guess that it is *not* the same as mandrel bent. So is "wrinkle bent" better or worse than mandrel bent?

Worse..... if I'm thinking the same, its like crush bent, which means where the bends are the pipe won't be the same diameter throughout.

Yeah, that's the word I was looking for "crush bent".
In the picture it looks like the inner curve is "wrinkled" or if you would prefer, "crushed".

thanks

Well, that is what it says on the website. I see "wrinkle" I think crush/bent, not mandrel bent.

How do you like them? Any problems with the spare tire? I have read on several boards where you should keep the exhause diameter close to stock and not go to big. What type of difference have you noted with the 3"?

i had to go with the 3 inch because of my trailer hitch and spare tire position. nice sounding exhaust and i had my third cat removed.truck has good low end tourque, my other mods are 180 stat full k/n fipk and jet stage 2 chip. had a exhaust specialist install all pipes are welded and it tucks neatly under frame. if you have the trailer hitch and go with the split duels it is recomended to place your spare tire in truck bed because of the clearance difference. my full sige had the split duels and they sounded great and seem to give the truck more pep also no thrid cat full k/n kit and jet chip and 180 stat so all of these mods together realy help out one another

OK, thanks for the info.

I will keep IMCO in mind once I sit down and finally get around to getting a cat-back (probably around the end of the year).

if you have someone install you catback ask them to remove your third cat. its against the law but if you pay in cash and dont get a receipt and would do your truck some good. if not have them bend up your pipes then you install it then go back to who ever and have them weld it up. seems like alot but its leagel that way
