SILVER DASH!!!
Got my silver dash in today and installed that puppy. A pain in the rear! A lot of screws to undo to take the components out to switch over, then put them into the new piece and have to 'pop the cherry' on the new holes.. lol[:@]
The difference it makes versus that natty looking wood thing is uncomparable. There are no words to describe it. Once I cleaned up after the install I thought I had a new truck.
IF there is one DAK owner that likes that Woodgrain dash, I'd like to ask... WHY?!?
I might post some pics tommorrow.. just for kicks

RE: SILVER DASH!!!
I plan on painting mine, either do it black or blue to match the truck (I'd have to get it done for that though, it'd be hard to match with a rattle-can). I'm just waiting till I get a new head unit, I plan to use a bit of fiberglass and bondo so the head unit looks like it was designed to be there, I hate the cheesy bezels for them. Also have another thing regarding that but it's top secret
On another note, Wooo! 2000!

deeerrrrnn!! lol you got a lot of posts there buddy! haha
Yeah I agree the bezels available for aftermarket systems stink. I thankfully though am not planning on changing out my radio, I'm quite happy with what I paid for. Does anyone know if the UConnect would work with an aftermarket radio system? Just a thought I had a while back. I like the MP3 and 6 disk changer, it's like having a built in iPod lol

RE: SILVER DASH!!!
I posed the question about UConnect and an aftermarket radio a few months back. While nobody had tried it, the concensus was that it probably wouldn't work....mainly because the controls are all tied to the mirror. You'd probably need to get an aftermarket radio with a bluetooth system to replace it, but that would render your mirror pretty much useless, except as a mirror.
