Does anyone have a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on their 4 door dakota? How is the interior noise with this? I am thinking about getting one this weekend but am worried about being too loud in the cab. Also was looking into the 50 Series SUV Performance Muffler what are your thouhts on that?

Hi tasmanohio. I have the SUV 50 Flowmaster on my '05 Dak and no problem with interior resonance with the windows closed or slightly open. Somewhat more so with the windows full open. Nice mellow tone, definitely not annoyingly loud. Check out the sound bytes at Flowmaster's web site.

Hey LuvMyDak,

I was thinking of the Flowmaster SUV 50 as well. Did you keep your resonators (1/both/none)?

Thanks.

I had my system done at Meineke. I had them dump EVERYTHING from the cats on back.Kept nothing. One pipe into the Flowmaster SUV 50, dual out and split side and side behind the rear wheels. All connections welded including new slash cut stainless tips. I would have preferred out the back except for the underbox spare.

I paid Meineke $543. Some may consider that a bit high but I feel I got a top notch install for the money.

Got my system from eBay from the guy below. Paid $249 + $20 more for mandrel bents. It was pre-fit to come out the back. Fit perfect around my tow bar & spare with big fat chrome rolled-end slash cut tips.I got the Delta 40 and it sounds awesome although the mellower 50 might have been a better choice. Interior resonance? I crank the stereo.I mounted exhaust w/ supplied clamps & hangers and my local Meinike welded the tips and all joints for $75

I have the Flowmaster 40 w/3" shop bent pipe from the cat-back. Get some resonance in the cab between 30-40mph but I don't consider it to loud or an annoying. At 70mph almost no sound in the cab.
