Exact same problem here too (As described by SinceOne). Have a 05 QC 4.7. Mine only does it occasionally, but seems to be getting more frequent.

Plus the appointment is for the Break Issue that the dakota's have.

The appointment is next wednesday so i'll let ya's know how it went.

mine has done the same as the rest of you guy's only three time's, the dealership said there was no codes that came up, and also does anybody else have rough idling engine's at time's, i think none of us will know what is goin on until something happen's to one of our engine's and then they will have to fix it and know what it is or there is a recall or a TSB, i dont know about the rest of ya but i dont think i will be getting another dakota, i'm so dissapointed in dodge right now.

Please let me know what they say, my dealership only wants to plug in the scanner and since it doesn't show a code they keep saying nothing is wrong. The wife drives this thing and is ready to get rid of it because of this mess, it's embarrassing having a new truck that stalls out at the worst moment! It will be fine and then you feel the motor wobbling bad and then if you don't get on the gas a little she dies. I suspected a vacumn problem, it doesn't do it in Park idling, just idling with when you are in Drive and stopped, is that what yours is doing as well?

Mine has done that too, i will be going slow like coming to a stop and and you can feel the engine running really bad like it's going to die but it clears up after a few seconds, and at times idle's kinda rough when in drive but when in park not as bad, it's gotta be something minor, what have you done to your engine, like a drop in K&N or a chip or what about a cold air intake, has anybody seen a difference when they started upgrading, just a thought, already been to the dealership with multiple problems they could'nt find a code for the engine problem's.

I am getting nervious I just bought the CAI and already have the gibson exhaust on. My truck runs great, but if you all have mods and they are stalling let us know I will return the intake if that is causing the Daks problems. Are all these 05s? Maybe they fixed it in 06? Seems my 06 doesnt have any of these problems and I want to keep it that way.

mine is an 05..

i only have a k&n drop in. it started happening to me before i put in the k&n. i thought the rough idling would go away once the truck got to breathe a lil better. but it didnt.

my truck still hasnt stalled tho.

first...

- i see my rpm's jump around
- engine sounds like its about to die
- engine then feels like its shaking the whole truck
- i let go of the brake and apply a lil gas
- it goes away

I have an '05 4.7L SLT Quad Cab 4X4. I've had some stalling probs this summer. Seems at least once a month or so. I changed out the air filter and crossing my fingers that the dirty original one was the problem. If problem persists, going to visit the dealer. Once in a while I have a problem with the truck getting from park in reverse. Usually in the morning. Seems to be a delay in the shifting. Anyone else had this problem? Never happens after the morning start.
