After weeks of the same post about your dislike of your Dakota I come to think the best way for you to find inner peace is to get rid of your Dakota and get the Truck you want....when I got my 2003 SXT V6 Club Cab Dakota in Nov. of 2003 it was a close out special and I was so happy with that truck.....until I found the 2004 SLT V8 Quad Cab Dakota and I could not find anything wrong with the 03 I just wanted the V8 and the 4 door cab.......even once the Gen 3's came out I still loved the Gen 2 style.....so I traded on my 03 the dealer paid off the loan and with no down I got an 2004 SLT V8 Quad Cab Dakota with low miles (I had been looking for a few months) and now I am more in love with this truck than my 03.....what my point is you should enjoy your truck and if that means selling it for another make then do it and be happy......you only live once and time is wasted on small stuff like not being happy it can effect you in so many ways........I can't wait to get up in the morning just to drive my truck to work......not that I love my work....it is a paycheck but my truck it makes me smile......I hope you find what you are looking for graythang...mahalo

I believe you all still don’t understand. I would like the truck if it was in good working order. If you had the problems with your Daks as I am you would be very unhappy with you truck too. It’s like its bitter cold outside but your fine because you’re inside. You are warm and fuzzy with your good Daks. I’m miserable. 4.7 HO that a Caravan could beat? Knocking and clattering in the engine. Give a break.

I understand and there is nothing short of you getting rid of your Dakota that is going to change how you feel......simple you are not happy with your truck and anything short of a miricle is going to change that so I was offering a kind ear and simpathetic heart (reading between the lines) sell it and move on.
Most the items you dislike such at the so called unpowered 4.7 HO short of adding a supercharger is not going to become the power house engine you desire or lights in places that you want them that they were not installed at from the factory, I mean when you test drove this truck did you not notice any of this items.....engine power or glove box lights......I sure did I went from top to bottom and spun the tires a few times on the test drive I could care less what the saleman thinks of my driving I am there to buy a truck and going to put it through the paces so to speak.....no suprises for me it is now other than the addons the same truck I drove home that first night.......Dakota love it leave it hehe

Look, I appreciate the ear but it is not running at all right! The Dak I rented yes rented to get a real feel for what i was buying with the standard 4.7 ran great! It was stripped so I took it for granted that simple items that where no on a stripped Dak that might cost maybe 17k that Dodge would appoint on top of the line Laramie at 30+k.

Ah that is how I fell in love with the Quad Cab SLT 04 4.7L I rented one from Enterprise and I was sold on it.......does your state have a lemon law that applies to your truck?

Yes and the dealer have on last chance to make it right. If they need to tare open the engine than that will not be an acceptable action and I will evoke the lemon law. I really just want to be happy like you and others. I can’t even break the tires loose it such a dog.

I can get by the things that are not on the truck that I feel should be if it was just in normal working order. Hell the rental was a better Dak that the twice as expensive one I have. Sorry for typos its late here in FL.
