Default Rainwater staining seats??

My Dak has 800 miles on it now, still might let it go not sure, but It rained here today and some water got on the drivers seat when I opened the door. That was 6 hours ago, still the stain "water spots" is still there. What's going on??--Will it go away, is it a defect or is this fabric bad??--It looks terrible?----
Any help??

thanks stash

bring it back to the dealer. they have whats called an enviormental protection package. they will wash the seats and get the stains out. also if you spill coffee or soda on the rugs.

It happened to me. It comes off easy. Simply take a towel and soak it in hot water, ring it out and go press out the stain with the wet hot towel, get the seat nice and damp from the towel, and when it drys it will be gone. No biggie.

Guess what? Dodge knows about the staining problem and the white dots that are forming on most of their vehicles seats from water staying in the fabric too long. They are changing all their materials in 07 because of the staining and water holding up in the fabric. You think they would have R&D this instead of letting customers do the R&D for them.

Dude, graythang... I have gotten too many PM's regarding your behavior. It's starting to **** me off that all you are doing is bitching.

Now, we can do one of two things.

1) You can CHILL THE **** OUT..

2) I can have a site mod. come over and watch over every post you make, and have them make a decision on wht is best to do here.

Take ur time and make the right decision.

Now, I understand you are having issues... and sure people want to hear about them... but when you start bashing the WHOLE LINE OF DAKS that's when I have a problem.

I don't need to think about it. You know it rally doesn’t matter anymore. You all have no idea just how many serious problems people are having with this line of trucks. And dealers don’t give a crap. You seem to just go with flow no mater what and Dodge is king and when they are screwing customers right and left it’s like oh well my Dak OK. It’s a fact the dealer situation is the worse but I guess that’s OK. It’s a fact that the Dakota was raped of amenities beginning with the Gen3s but that OK. As long as your trucks are clean and shiny and they can, light up the tires all is good with the world.
Have a nice life, Later

Thanks for the tip!!

I got the towel soaked it in hot water, wrung it out, and then went one step further, I put it into the microwave for one minute. I took it out and it was steaming. Looked like one of those towels a Barber used to use :-) I then did what you said.

I'll post results when it dries.

thanks Stash

Update:

2 hours since hot towel application.

Stains do not appear to be coming back, BUT I did a section of the seat "the section with the stains", and it appears darker than the rest of the cloth. I do not know if this is permanent or just still a little damp and I am just too anxious for results. I'll will wait a few more hours to be sure the fabric is completely dry and see. Worst case---I use the hot towel method on ALL the fabric, and accept the darker color.

Thanks Stash

I have the leater so I am not sure of the spots, but 3M makes a great fabric protector, I dont remember the name off hand have to do some research. I used it on the salt stains I would get in a GM car I had when I lived in NY. Look for it and put it on if the dealer isnt going to do it for free. I bet it is the same stuff.

Greythang-- My local dealer is great and treats me and my truck very well. You have a POS truck from a POS dealer, maybe your truck would get fixed if you took it to a different dealer LIKE EVERYONE HAS TOLD YOU TO DO!!!! Also who the F**K needs creature comforts in a truck. You assume everyone wants these options, I need my truck to do basic things, if I want to be spoiled while I drive I get in my BMW. I feel my truck is pretty loaded for a truck. I dont feel raped by DC at all. I have no clude what you spent 32K on... I spent just almost 27K and only missing 4x4 and ho motor. Sorry buddy but your truck doesnt speak for the entire line of dodges or Daks. Go get the Tundra....Just remember the grass isnt greener on the foriegn side anymore either. I honestly wish you the best in getting your problems resolved.
