Sorry I thought my last post pretty much went the way of the Tundra. Both are in site but the Tacoma is just a bit small. The Thundra thought is marketed as a full size is not quite American full size until the 07 is launched. The 07 Tundra will be the first Asian full size truck ever in the US. I will most likely go for a 06 Tundra access cab.

The Titan has to be full size, it is pretty damm big. Sorry about ALL your problems, one good thing with all your complaints I look at my truck cloesly, so I looked for tranny leak in mine, nope dry as a bone. I must of got a truck made when the workers were told they were gettin a raise or something because my truck is great.

Lol. The few people that got the "problem trucks" must have gotten Monday morning trucks, or Friday afternoon trucks.

Yep things never change in the American market place. Our lack of QC and work ethics has caused us to loose much of the market, that it’s blatantly obvious and ashamed. I wish it where true a few trucks are problems but unfortunately, the Dak line and others like Ranger and Colorado are having bad number for Quality and Customer satisfaction. We can’t dispute the fact of the experts who's business it is to gather and report this information. I will agree with anyone that I made a mistake knowing these facts and still made such a purchase. I will not place faith in these American touted products again. I had a 95 Dak with a killer 5.2 but other problems crippled that truck. In fact, a buddy of mine with a 93 had four transmissions replaced. I tried to believe they got there act together and I was wrong. Quiet, nice ride and good-looking etc. etc. is a poor reason for a purchase of such an item.

Bah... my grandpa told me he read that we (American automakers) have surpassed European automakers in quality and reliability. (I remember seeing that somewhere, but I don't read the number of things he does) Granted, we have work to do before we surpass the Jap Crap.
But hey, we ARE getting better.

Humm it is a Europe automaker running the show at Dodge. Dr. Z said it is his focus is to surpass Toyota in all aspects. You can read that on the Corporate DC Web Site. Question is if and when will that happen. Toyota took over DC ranking in the US more than six months ago. By indications he may be going about it in the wrong way. God knows Ford must of as Toyota is closing in on them.

I dont think it had much to do with quality control. Cars like the Camery (best selling car EVER) made here in the US and BMW 3 series (some of them, mine came from germany) made right here by the same Americans. I dont think American cars are any less reliable, it is a thought we carry over from the 70-80s. The big 3 screwed us over those 20 years and now they are paying for it. Only problem the American made cars are so boring!! Why cant we have the GMs/Fords that are sold in Europe, cant be that much to make them pass emmissions here. Anyway back to the Dak, it is a reliable truck for me, yean not a powerhouse but serves me well. My buddy hates his Toyota (05 Tacoma) as we speak back in the shop.
